About Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast lies on the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa. Its political capital is Yamoussoukro, while Abidjan is the largest city and main commercial centre. French is the official language, and the country shares borders with Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana.
Agriculturally, it is one of the most important economies in the region. It is widely reported as the world’s largest cocoa producer and is also a major producer of cashew and natural rubber. This concentration of tree-crop agriculture is what makes it central to the West African commodity trade.
